Update on teaching and learning arrangements (8 September 2020) (只有英文版)

08.09.2020  16:28

In light of the stabilised COVID-19 situation in Hong Kong, the University has decided to resume face-to-face teaching in parallel with online teaching for its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Classes will be conducted normally online until 26 September 2020. Starting from Monday 28 September 2020, all classes will be delivered in BOTH online and face-to-face modes simultaneously. Individual programmes/course instructors will announce detailed arrangements separately if needed.

For students who are currently not in Hong Kong, there is no need for you to rush to Hong Kong. You may continue your learning via online classes until public health conditions of your current location permit safe travel. If you plan to come for attending classes on campus, you should be fully aware of the travel conditions and the mandatory quarantine requirements in Hong Kong before starting your trip.

Colleagues and students who return to the campus should wear a mask at all times and strictly adhere to the health and safety measures and guidelines as advised by the University’s Health, Safety and Environment Committee. Please refer to the Committee’s latest email for details.

You should NOT come to the campus if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, or if you or your home-mates are requested to do the COVID-19 virus test by the Centre for Health Protection, or your home-mates are undergoing mandatory quarantine.

To minimise the risk of infection, the campus is now only open to current LU staff and students, and those with permission issued by University departments/offices/units. Special arrangements can be made for alumni and anyone needing to visit LU as long as they have prior approval to visit the campus and observe precautionary health measures.

In view of the unpredictable pandemic situation, please be prepared for possible suspension of face-to-face teaching if public health conditions get worse again. The University will continue monitoring the public health conditions and announce new arrangements for enhancing student learning during the difficult time. Let us work together to maximise every opportunity for enriching student learning through multiple forms of teaching and learning activities organised by your respective programmes.

Please stay healthy and remain positive.
